Discover Westwood Lake Campground Resort, perfectly situated just 2 km from Highway 19 nestled next to Westwood Lake on the slopes of Mount Benson. We are uniquely located in a semi-rural haven while also being conveniently located close to shopping, parks, golf courses, lakes, and beaches.

Nanaimo, a vibrant city connected to Vancouver and the mainland by ferries and air, stands as a major hub on Vancouver Island. Beyond offering a diverse range of commercial and recreational services, Nanaimo is known as the gateway to the island, offering easy access to a myriad of the best destinations that the island has to offer.

GETTING TO THE ISLAND

Embark on a picturesque journey through the Strait of Georgia islands from Vancouver to Nanaimo via one of two ferry routes. Depart from Tsawwassen in Delta, a southern region of Greater Vancouver, arriving at Duke Point, just south of Nanaimo in Cedar. Alternatively, choose the Horseshoe Bay ferry, which docks at Departure Bay near downtown Nanaimo. Let this scenic ferry ride be the exciting prelude to your Vancouver Island adventure.

For trip planning, visit the BC Ferries website to check ferry schedules and make reservations. It’s highly recommended to schedule your sailing in advance and arrive early, especially during the busy summer months.

By Sea

No matter the length of your journey leading up to your arrival at Nanaimo’s Regional Airport, Westwood Lake Campground Resort is just a scenic 15-minute drive away (18 km). For those coming from Comox’s airport, our Campground is a 1.5hr drive away (117 km).

For a truly unique experience, opt for the spectacular 20-minute sea plane flight with Harbour Air departing from downtown Vancouver and landing right at the charming Nanaimo harbourfront. With regularly scheduled flights offering both convenience and breath-taking views of the Strait of Georgia, this experience is a must for the avid flyer!

By Air

Embark on a swift and scenic journey from Victoria to Nanaimo, a mere 1.5-hour drive north along the Trans Canada Highway #1. Travelling from Port Hardy? We are a 4 hr drive south along the BC-19. Conveniently located just off Highways 19 (exit 18), Westwood Lake Campground Resort awaits your arrival.
